One of the many known Turkish delicious dishes: Lahmacun! Thin, flat bread topped with ground beef and vegetables. This is a taste you will never forget once you've had it.

In the Turkish cuisine you can never go wrong with dough and meat. Here's an easy dish you can make for the family. Topped with fresh parsley, tomatoes, onion and lemon juice, you will enjoy putting it all together and enjoying the taste afterwards.
Whatever you do, do it with love.
INGREDIENTS (6 people)
DOUGH
4,5 cups of flower
1 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp olive/corn oil
1-1,5 tsp salt
1 cup lukewarm water
TOPPING
1,5 onion
1 tomato
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
2 garlic cloves
250 gr ground beef
1 tsp tomato and/or pepper paste
1 tsp olive/ corn oil
1 tsp paprika powder
1,5 tsp salt
1,5 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
DOUGH
Add all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well, then add the oil and kneed well. Afterwards, start adding the water little by little. When the dough starts to come together, you can put the bowl away and start kneading on your counter for approximately 5 minutes until the dough gets soft.
Cover the dough with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rest for about an hour. Later on we'll make little "pizza" shapes.
TOPPING
You can either put all the ingredients together in a mixer and mix it or you can only mix the vegetables and then put all of the other ingredients together with the mixed vegetables in a bowl and mix it that way.
Personally, I like to do mix the vegetables first and then mix it with the rest, but the first way is easier and faster. Cover this bowl afterwards and let it rest for 40 minutes. This way, the herbs can really get into the mixture.
MAKING AND BAKING THE LAHMACUNS
Preheat the oven to 220°C and place a baking sheet in it. Then divide the dough into 12 pieces roll all of them into a ball. Roll each ball out to the size of your baking sheet (like a pizza). Then take a bit of your meat mixture and carefully spread it across the dough with the tips of your fingers, leaving the edges blank to create a crispy edge.
Bake the lahmacuns for about 10 minutes or until the bottom and edges are baked.
Serve with fresh parsley, onions, tomatoes and lemon juice.
Put these ingredients on the lahmacun, then roll it up like a wrap!
Personally, I like to squeeze some samouraï (hot sauce based on mayonnaise) on the lahmacun, add onions, tomatoes, parsley and lettuce and then roll it up. Fingerlicking goodness!
VIDEO
Here is a video to show you how it's made. The amount and ingredients differ a bit from what I have written and she makes it in a pan, but both ways are possible. I prefer to make it in an oven, but it's totally up to you.
Afiyet olsun! ❤️🇹🇷
